Hi all, I’ve done some googling and finding it hard to get a definitive answer.
My boss is soon going to offer me permanent part time. I’ve only just moved onto centrelink payments (FTB and PPS, CS etc).I’ve also now got a health care card.
I’m not sure how much income I can earn before losing all of this (or a big chunk of it). I understand it’s good to earn money etc but it would need to be a significant amount MORE or else I could lose a lot of benefits all for the sake of only a little bit of extra money. If that makes sense?!
Wold 55K salary push me over? I have three kids by the way.
Anyway, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

No one can give you an answer, you will have to talk to Centrelink

Here are some great estimators you can use to find out:

Thanks all! Appreciate it a lot. Yep it really is a mission trying to source these answers. I guess I’m avoiding having to call them because it really is hit and miss calling them and getting someone helpful on the other end.

Just make sure you declare what you earn to centrelink fortnightly! I went back to work 1.5 days per week and every time I clicked on the “report income” button in c/l website it would tell me that I couldn’t report. I called c/l and was told that I had no reporting obligations at that time…. After tax time I received a letter from centrelink saying they overpaid me and I am now in $6000 debt to them. So, even if someone tells you otherwise, make sure you are reporting!!!!

Grap a cuppa and make the call, you can do other stuff while you are on hold 🙂 Good luck.

You dont need to call them. There is a rate estimator online. You put in your income per fortnight and it will tell you how much PPS you’ll get, if any. Then you can also find out how much FTB based on annual income as well. The healthcare card cuts out at roughly $54,500 (that’s the green card) and the blue card cancels when your PPS cancels.
