My ex took our daughter from her daycare on Friday morning after he sent an email saying he was in town and would be taking her. We have no parenting orders in place however we have been discussing via email re mediation. He drove her 1200kms away from where we have lived for the past 3 years. I have lodged a recovery order late Friday night but haven’t heard anything. The police where I live put a job in for a welfare check at a known residence however my ex presented her at a police station where his new girlfriend lives. He stated to police
She would call me Saturday night which she did but he cut the call off at 2 mins and tonight however I heard nothing and told them she would be returned to her daycare in my home town tomorrow. However the email he sent me said she would contact me every 2nd day at 6:30 off a phone number that’s off or as she wants to and that he would return her on the 9th.
I’m terrified I’m never going to see my little girl again. Has anyone been through similar or know where I can go from here ?

You will get her back as planned to tomorrow I am sure and desperately hope so. When you do you need to get parenting orders in place to prevent anything similar happening again. It sounds like he trying to disrupt and scare you. Keep the police updated and stay on the case so they take it seriously. Record everything for when you go to court and arrange your orders.

No recovery order was granted as he presented our daughter to a police station for a welfare check and there’s no harm
I don’t know where to go from here
We have a family court date set just before Christmas

Can you get emergency legal aid??
- December 2, 2019 at 10:07 pm #21425
I can only imagine what you’re going through. Think you’re going to need to call legal aid in the morning for emergency help, or your existing lawyer if you have one.
I’ve always found asking to be transferred to the 1800 Respect specialist counsellors are helpful when I’m extremely stressed about parenting conflict. They might have some suggestions on what to do next.

I second the above poster. Call your lawyer and arrange a meeting asap if you really need to.
